Every gift falls into one of two categories: things that get used up and things that stay.
Perfume fades. Chocolates disappear. Cash gets spent. But a photograph framed, personalized, sitting on someone’s mantelpiece or hanging in their hallway, stays. It stays when the couple moves homes. It stays when the child grows up. It stays when the parents grow old.
That’s the power of a memory frame. And in Pakistan, where family milestones are celebrated with deep emotion and generosity, a custom memory frame is quietly becoming the most meaningful gift you can give.
At The Framers, we’ve designed over 500 custom memory frames for clients across Pakistan. The most requested variant? A wedding photo frame with the couple’s names in hand-lettered calligraphy. But we’ve also built frames for first birthdays, graduation ceremonies, retirement farewells, and most movingly, memorial tributes that honour loved ones who are no longer with us.
This guide covers 10 specific memory frame gift ideas, the materials and sizes available, and honest pricing so you can find the right fit for the occasion and your budget.
What Exactly Is a Memory Frame?
A memory frame is not a regular photo frame. It’s a customized piece that combines one or more personal photographs with text names, dates, messages, quotes, or milestones presented in a curated layout, often with decorative elements like calligraphy, watercolour accents, or graphic motifs.
Think of it as a portrait with context. A regular frame holds a photo. A memory frame tells the story around that photo.
| Feature | Regular Photo Frame | Custom Memory Frame |
| Photo | One photo, standard size | One or multiple photos, custom layout |
| Text | None | Names, dates, messages, calligraphy |
| Design | Plain border | Custom layout with decorative elements |
| Personalisation | None, same frame for everyone | Unique to each recipient |
| Emotional Impact | A nice photo | A complete keepsake with meaning |
Each memory frame is built to order in our studio, so the size, layout, and finishing are completely yours to decide.
10 Memory Frame Gift Ideas for Every Occasion
1. Wedding Gift for the Couple
A beautifully framed wedding photo with the couple’s names in calligraphy, nikkah date, and a Quranic verse or dua. This is the gift that ends up on the couple’s bedroom wall, not in a drawer.
What to include: Nikkah or barat photo + couple’s names + date + a short dua or quote.
Best material: Wooden frame with gold metallic print on matte paper.
If you’re specifically shopping for a newlywed couple, wedding gifts that preserve memories outperform generic items every time.
2. Parents’ Anniversary
A then-and-now frame: their wedding-day photo on one side, a recent photo on the other, with the number of years in bold calligraphy between them. It’s the gift that makes parents cry in the best way.
What to include: Old wedding photo + recent photo + “25 Years of Love” (or however many years) + family name.
A customer in Karachi ordered a shadow box memory frame for her parents’ 25th anniversary. She filled it with miniature items from their wedding day: a dried flower from the bridal bouquet, a fabric swatch from the bride’s outfit, and a handwritten note. It was the most personal frame we’ve ever assembled.
3. Baby’s First Year
Twelve small photos, one from each month, are arranged around one larger central photo from the first birthday. A visual journey of the baby’s first year that parents treasure forever.
What to include: 12 monthly photos + birthday photo + baby’s name + date of birth + weight at birth (optional).

4. Graduation Milestone
The cap-and-gown moment is framed with the graduate’s name, degree, university name, and year. A reminder of years of effort, displayed with pride.
What to include: Graduation photo + degree name + university + year + a short personal message.
5. Farewell or Retirement
When a colleague retires, or a loved one moves away, a memory frame filled with group photos, inside jokes, and a farewell message is the gift that says “you mattered here.” We’ve made these for corporate farewells, school principal retirements, and family migrations.
What to include: 2-3 group photos + person’s name + years of service (if applicable) + a meaningful quote.
6. Best Friend’s Birthday
Move beyond generic gifts. A memory frame with your best photos together, a funny quote, and the years of your friendship is something they’ll actually keep for life.
What to include: 2-4 photos of moments together + a quote, inside joke, or message + names.

7. Family Reunion Keepsake
When the entire extended family gathers, which in Pakistan usually means 50+ people in one photograph, a framed version of that moment, with the family name and date, becomes a generational keepsake.
What to include: Large group photo + family name + event date + city.

8. Couple’s First Home
When a couple moves into their first home, a memory frame featuring a photo of the couple with their new home in the background (or holding keys) becomes the first piece of decor in their life together.
What to include: Photo in front of new home + names + “Our First Home” text + date of move-in.

9. Memorial / Remembrance
For families who’ve lost a loved one, a memorial memory frame is a way to honour their memory with dignity. We handle these orders with extra care. The frame typically features a cherished photo, the person’s name, birth and passing dates, and a verse or dua.
What to include: A favourite photograph + full name + dates + a Quranic verse (Surah Fatiha or Inna Lillahi) or personal message.
10. Eid or Holiday Gift
A family photo from Eid, colour-coordinated outfits, everyone smiling, framed with “Eid Mubarak” calligraphy and the year. Perfect for grandparents, aunts, and anyone who values family photos.
What to include: Family/group Eid photo + “Eid Mubarak” calligraphy + year.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to make a custom memory frame?
Standard turnaround is 5-7 working days from design approval to delivery. Rush orders (3 working days) are available at a 20% premium. During Eid and wedding season, add an extra 2-3 days to account for volume.
Can I send photos digitally for the frame?
Yes, most of our clients share photos via WhatsApp or email. We need a minimum resolution of 1500 × 2000 pixels (roughly 2 megapixels) for a crisp print at 10×16 inches. Higher resolution is always better. We’ll let you know if any photo doesn’t meet the quality threshold.
Do you deliver across Pakistan?
We deliver nationwide. Frames are packed in foam-lined cardboard boxes with corner protectors. We use TCS and Leopards for shipping. Delivery to major cities (Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad) takes 2-3 working days after dispatch. Smaller cities may take 4-5 days.
What if the frame arrives damaged?
We replace it no questions asked. Every frame is inspected, photographed, and packed by our team before dispatch. Damage during transit is rare (less than 1% of our shipments), but when it happens, we ship a replacement within 48 hours at no additional cost.
What is the difference between a memory frame and a regular photo frame?
A regular photo frame holds a printed photo in a standard size; it’s a holder. A memory frame is a custom-designed piece that combines your photo(s) with text, calligraphy, dates, and decorative design elements into a personalized layout. It’s conceived as a complete visual keepsake, not just a border around a picture. The difference is the same as between a blank notebook and a thoughtfully designed journal.
